The work continues, and so does our coalition
Our fight for fair representation is under attack, and we need your help to build Black political power in the 2026 Midterms.
Hi, this is Stefanie Brown James, Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Collective PAC.
I’m reaching out to you today via our Substack with a crucial message.
Our fight for fair representation is under attack.
In April, the Supreme Court rolled back the clock on the Civil Rights Movement.
In their 6-3 decision in Louisiana v. Callais, the GOP-captured Court effectively gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act — the central safeguard against racially discriminatory redistricting and the legal architecture under which most of the Congressional Black Caucus was elected.
What this means:
This decision could make it harder for Black voters and other voters of color to challenge discriminatory maps… and easier for Republican lawmakers to dilute our political power.
That means fewer fair districts.
Fewer candidates of color with a real path to victory.
Fewer communities with the representation they deserve.
For decades, Black political power has been built one seat, one district, one cycle at a time — most of it on ground first cleared by Section 2.
April’s ruling threatens that ground. But the work continues, and so does our coalition.
We’re building Black political power in 2026.
In 2026 alone, The Collective PAC has endorsed over 100+ Black candidates at every level of government.
We are strategically focused on creating a truly equitable democracy where our nation’s local, state, and federal governments have diverse and talented elected leadership.
A truly equitable democracy means Black people are fully represented in positions of power – and are able to create the policies necessary to move our communities forward.
But we’re not waiting for someone else to step in.
We’re recruiting candidates, training leaders, investing in campaigns, and building the infrastructure needed to win races up and down the ballot.
And we depend on grassroots support to elect bold, Black Democrats who will stand up to Donald Trump and give us the representation we deserve.
Every dollar donated helps fund our voter outreach, candidate support, and campaign operations needed to build Black political power.
Black leaders we’re proud to support.
Here at The Collective PAC, we’re hard at work to recruit, train, and support a new wave of Black leaders who will fight for our rights, our future, and our democracy.
And these candidates represent exactly what this moment demands: courage, vision, and commitment to fighting for the communities that are too often ignored.
Endorsing and amplifying Black candidates at every level is our first step towards winning in November, flipping the House, and giving Black leaders a voice to fight for us.
Please, take a moment to read more about some of our endorsed candidates below:
The 2026 Midterms are right around the corner.
With the Midterm elections just months away, there has never been a more urgent time to act.
If we’re going to win in November, flip the House, and elect Black Democrats up and down the ballot, we need your grassroots support to keep our operations going.
Thank you,
Stefanie Brown James
